French onion soup with grilled cheese

With this recipe, you will be able to make onion soup quickly and without any hassle.

You will need:

  1. 600 g of onions;
  2. 100 g of butter;
  3. 4 sprigs of fresh thyme;
  4. 25 g of garlic;
  5. 200 ml of white wine;
  6. 2 beef bouillon cubes;
  7. 330 ml of TICHĖ natural mineral water;
  8. 1 g of black ground pepper;
  9. 8 slices of French bread;
  10. 80 g of hard cheese “Džiugas”.


  1. Slice the onions into half rings.
  2. Melt the butter in a heated pan. Add the onion half rings.
  3. While frying the onions, add the thyme and chopped garlic.
  4. Once the vegetables become soft, pour in the wine.
  5. Add the beef bouillon cubes to the paste.
  6. Pour the TICHĖ natural mineral water and cook the paste.
  7. Season with pepper, cook a little more and pour into soup bowls, which are suitable to be placed in the oven.
  8. Slice the bread and place them in the soup bowls.
  9. Grate the cheese finely and add plenty of it to the bread.
  10. Place the bowls in a preheated oven and bake until the cheese is nicely browned.
